I'm moving!

Well okay, I'm not MOVING as in, moving to a new house. But The Painted Piglet is moving to a new "house" on the internet! I spent literally my entire weekend on this project, and there is more work to be done, but I am very excited and the whole thing will "officially" take place soon, so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, you might remember that a couple of weeks ago I launched the Painted Piglet vintage store on Etsy. Well, on Friday I sold my first item: a lovely framed needlepoint picture. I was thrilled to have sold it... but even more thrilled when I realized it was going to Sharon at C'est Chouette Home. Seriously, have you SEEN the amazing pillows she creates from heirloom needlepoint? She confirmed for me that indeed, she plans to make a pillow out of the piece she bought from me - I can't wait to see it! By the way, I've also added a few of my Rose Chintz pieces to the Etsy store - so if you're in the market for this pattern I hope you'll take a look!

That's it for now, I'll have more soon!

  1. I can't wait to see what you've been up to! Congrats on your first sale...:) I am anxious to get mine open, but I have so much to do still....hopefully soon! Can I work on it a little at a time and "open" when I am done? That way I could make it a goal to list 2 or 3 items every evening until I'm done. Let me know! Oh....and I love that needlepoint!

  2. Hi Vicky - yes I do think you can do it a little at a time... that's how I've been doing mine. In fact, on Friday night I was taking pictures of some new items to list, when I got the notification that I had made a sale. I was SO excited! I do think I started with too few items, though. If I were starting over I would probably load maybe 15-20 items FIRST, before I made it live and announced it, then continue to load a few each day. I think it would have made a better first impression that way; as it was I opened with, I think, five or six items and felt like it looked a little skimpy. But, I was anxious! And I will build from where I'm at. Regarding the blog - what I'm doing is moving it to its own domain name so I am not dependent on Blogger. I have a web hosting account where I currently have my motorcycle blog, so I've given the Piglet some space on that same account. I've installed Wordpress as the blogging platform, which I've used extensively on other blogs... I've brought over a lot of other posts from past blogs... and I'm now in the process of re-loading the pictures from all those posts to make sure they are part of the new domain name. It's very time-consuming, but, as my mother used to say, "It keeps me out of the pool hall." LOL Can't wait to see the link to your shop - you find SUCH good treasures!!
