I will need to look for some photographic evidence to confirm, but I believe that this would have been my own christening gown. (My older sister was born premature and it would have been way too big for her.) I think that the little piece on the right may actually be a slip, worn under the piece on the left, because it is sleeveless.
A few photos showing some of the details...
I purchased these darling little hangers just for these dresses - hand-made embellishments on baby-sized plastic hangers. Very sweet!
LOVELY!! What wonderful treasures to display on your pretty hooks :)

Hello Janet,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Oh my I just love this little dress. I think you are right about the sleeveless piece being a little slip for under the dress. I have several of these darling little dresses, and I love displaying them on the wall too. May I ask where you found the sweet hangers? I am on the looking out for some. I have a vintage wooden one that is tiny, and I plan on painting it. Come by for a visit sometime!

ReplyDeleteCute dress. I wish I had mine.
ReplyDeleteLove your gown. I showed one a while back that I made out of my wedding dress for our granddaughters. Have a blessed week. Debbie

These are so gorgeous. I just love them. I can't remember if we have mine, I'll have to dig out "the baby box" soon. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for visiting and commenting! Someone asked about the hangers - I can't remember where I bought them, isn't that awful?? It was just a month or so ago, too! Gads... it had to have been either a flea market or craft mall... they are little child-size plastic hangers and someone made the sweet little covers for them to make them padded. I thought they were very inexpensive at a dollar each, considering the handmade covers.
